Dear Chloe,
My joyful, sincere, stubborn and passionate first born. I had no idea you would be all these things and more. The day we found out we would get to be your parents was such a miraculous, beautiful, heart stopping day. I remember dreaming about you even before God gave you to us.
The day you were born (all 8 lbs 13 oz of you!) I learned what it was like to have my heart outside of my chest and wanting nothing more than to keep you safe, love you and watch you blossom into every new beginning ahead of you.
Remembering you brings such a smile to my face and I will admit, tears to my eyes. Good tears, that I am sure one day you will understand.
I have enjoyed watching the milestones you have gone through and accomplished and there are so many more ahead! In just seven short days you are going to be SEVEN! Goodness, this blessing of a time has gone by so fast.
There are so many things you are going to learn still, many battles I am sure to be fought, along with many joys that you will experience with that sweet smile of yours.
Chloe, when I think about you I am in awe of the love that you have for others and the passion you have for learning about Jesus. You spend so much time listening to your bible and learning all you can. It inspires me to be more diligent in my reading and studies. I hope you never lose this vigor and zeal for God and pursuing to know Him.
When you were born it was prophesied over you and confirmed that you would be like Deborah in the bible with great discernment. I have seen this gift taking place in you and it has been amazing watching this gift God has given you unfold and transform. I can only hope that we continue to nurture that gifting as you grow and you embrace it. God loves you so much, even more than me or your Daddy; I hope you know this all the days of your life.
So my love, enjoy life, embrace Jesus, learn and grow from all you are dealt, keep smiling, don't be afraid to cry and remember always that I love you.
Love,
Mama

We took some photos on a whim in the back yard today and this is the series I got from my sweet pea. Gosh, time just goes so fast! These memories I will hold forever in my heart.
Don't be afraid to grow up my love but don't be afraid to be child like where it matters.
